Lombardo Homes Participates in St. Baldrick’s Foundation to Raise Money for Childhood Cancer Research

News & Announcements

After March 14, you may notice something different about certain Michigan construction coordinators: They may be bald.

Lombardo Companies team members are participating in the annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraiser, an event that raises money for childhood cancer research. Members from Michigan’s construction, maintenance, and office teams have volunteered to raise money for this cause and shave their heads on Saturday, March 14 at the St. Baldrick’s fundraiser event in Romeo, Mich.

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven organization that’s “committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and to give survivors long and healthy lives.” Each year, the Foundation hosts head-shaving events where volunteers collect donations and shave their heads in solidarity with children with cancer. Since 2005, St. Baldrick’s has donated more than $154 million to support childhood cancer research, making it the largest private funder of such research grants.

This isn’t our first year participating in the St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraiser. Last year, Vice President of Property Management Cathy Lombardo served on the committee for the event in Romeo, and Vice President of Construction Dave Hamilton volunteered as a shavee and raised a whopping $11,450 for St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

This year, our team of 15 shavees aims to raise $30,000 for St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Want to help? Check out our team page and make a donation, whether it be to our entire team or an individual shavee. Then, head to the St. Baldrick’s shaving event in Romeo on Saturday, March 14 to support our team members as they shave their heads for those fighting childhood cancer research. The event is from noon to 9 PM at the Lions Field House, located at 269 E. Washington St. in Romeo.
