  1. Macomb Fair & Expo | May 20 – June 5 | Gibraltar Trade Center, Mount Clemens

This Macomb County festival runs for more than two weeks, and includes a host of family-friendly entertainment, carnival rides and games, live entertainment, delicious food, and more!

  1. Mary’s Polish Country Fair | May 27 – May 30 | Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Campus

Held at St. Mary’s Preparatory School in Orchard Lake Village, this event hosts delicious Polish and American food, live entertainment from top local bands, Vegas tents, games, art on display, carnival rides – including an 80-foot roller coaster – and much more!

  1. South Lyon Memorial Day Parade | May 30 at 9 a.m. | Downtown South Lyon

Organized by VFW Post 2502, the South Lyon Memorial Day parade launches from Bartlett Elementary and makes its way down 10 Mile through the downtown area. The parade ends in the South Lyon Cemetery with a touching ceremony that commemorates the contributions and sacrifices of all veterans.

  1. Dexter Memorial Day Parade | May 30 at 10 a.m. | Dexter

The Dexter Memorial Day Parade is a grand community event presented by the Rotary Club of Dexter to celebrate and remember the brave men and women of our U.S. military. The parade will include 700 walkers, smilers, and good vibes, and will honor the parade’s speaker and special guest, Charles “Chuck” Kettles, commander of the 176th Assault Helicopter Company’s first platoon in 1967.

  1. Greater Rochester Heritage Days | May 28 – May 29 | Rochester Municipal Park

This two-day festival features a wide array of activities – including an arts & crafts show and sale, live animals, car shows, lumberjack shows, live music, Civil War reenactments, antique fire trucks, food vendors galore and much, much more!

Memorial Day weekend also marks the opening of many neighborhood water parks and splash pads like Rolling Hills Water Park in Ypsilanti and Brandenburg Splash Park in Chesterfield Township.
